Money raised from this event will benefit the many service projects, both locally and internationally, of the Morrisville-Yardley Area Rotary Club. Literacy and leadership development of the youth of Morrisville has always been a high priority. The club gives personal dictionaries to 3rd graders and individualized “I Like Me” books to kindergarteners. It sponsors the Morrisville High School Leadership Academy and sends selected high school juniors to a Rotary youth leadership camp, “Camp Neidig”, each year. It is helping the Reach Out Foundation of Bucks County, a non-profit, self-help, support facility and organization in Morrisville for consumers of behavioral health services. The club is in a joint program with Lima, Peru, Rotarians to provide water filtration to families in remote areas of Peru. It also supports Rotaplast, a program that sends volunteer teams or surgeons and staff to remote parts of the world to correct cleft palates and lips, ShelterBoxes for emergency shelter in disasters around the world and PolioPlus a Rotary sponsored program that is very close to eliminating polio throughout the world.
